The signing ceremony of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University – Hospital Clinic de Barcelona “Heart Center” is held on Nov 28, 2020 at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. As a key project led by Silver Mountain Group (“SMG”), this project is also the Phase 1 project of the Guangzhou Barcelona International Hospital which will be officially put into operation in March 2021.
Leaders, experts and scholars from Guangzhou Huangpu District, Guangzhou Development District, SMG and the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University attended the event.
Hospital Clinic de Barcelona is a leading European medical institution with a history of more than 100 years which completed the world’s first fetal heart surgery. It ranked 21st on the World’s Best Hospital 2020 by Newsweek.

Guangzhou Barcelona International Hospital and its Heart Center are key projects of SMG. This project is a depth cooperation with Hospital Clinic de Barcelona. Through the construction of the Heart Center, combined with the basis of the Department of Cardiovascular of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, it will be developed into a key representative discipline of the hospital and strive to become a provincial, municipal, national key research project and a demonstration for the implementation of innovative reform policies together with the localization and construction of Guangzhou Barcelona International Hospital.
