The Administrative Committee of Guangzhou Development District (“GDD”), Fresenius Group and Silver Mountain Group (“SMG”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Nov 2nd, 2018.
In the “China-EU Regional Policy Cooperation High-Level Dialogue Joint Statement”, GDD is clearly designated as the first pilot area for China-EU regional policy cooperation. One of the contents of China-EU regional policy cooperation is to promote European companies to enter the Guangzhou Development District with support from China and the European Union.

The focus of the cooperation between the two parties is independent hemodialysis centers, renal specialist hospitals or general hospitals and other medical institutions with hemodialysis service business as the main business。 Set up the South China headquarters of Fresenius Group in the Guangzhou Development District and gradually establish a comprehensive hemodialysis medical system in the Guangzhou Development District and further cover it to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the five provinces of South China. At the same time, with close cooperation, we will cooperate with medical training institutions such as the German Cognus Education and Training Institute and Hospital Clinic de Barcelona planned to be established in the Guangzhou Development District to jointly create an integrated medical education and research complex with kidney disease as the core.
